    Hello WyFish,

Hit the kudo button. You deserve it.

Honestly sorry about your friend. It's difficult to know how some people will react to humour.

Tell him you're going to stop hanging around with an unwholesome guy -- namely me.

    My best,

    Hey Boo:

I got it wound on a reel but have not fished it yet. I put it on my little Flycast. I must be a creature of habit as I keep using my TT and fiddling with leaders and tippets.
I did think about trying it last weekend on my trip to "Wiley Devil Creek" and tried a new reel with my trusty 5wt TT, but got too absorbed in trying to catch fish. I had limited success; should have gone back and tried the Sylk.

The sylk line is very supple. I like that part, because I hate line coil coming off the reel. I fish mostly high in the mountains and I need a supple line in that kind of cold. The problem is when I used it in hotter weather it got pretty soft. You know how your leader will want to wrap around the rod in certain situations? Well the sylk is so soft it will do that too. It's not a big deal and easily prevented. I like the line and I sold it, because I sold the rod I was using it on.
I know why some guys don't like the line. It comes with a long tip. Too long. The suppleness, smaller diameter, and long tip won't turn over the leader with authority. The simple cure is to cut back the tip some. It makes a 1000% improvement. I've already done that to line your getting. You'll like it just the way I have it. Don't put a loop on the line. It's too much of a hinge to turn over. Nail knot whatever leader you use. Even a furled leader I nail knot on. Put it on your reel just the way it comes off the spool I send. I apologize for not having the original package. For the life of me I can't find it.
I'll get it off tomorrow. Let me know how you like it.

    Pete

Thanks for the additional info. I have a neurotic relationahip with a spring creek here and that new soft line may shake up my technique a bit. There are fish but they are wiley devils.
I'll try to report in a few weeks after I've given it a fair trial.

    Thanks jack,
Very nice of you, and, the same could certainly be said of you, plus, your terrific sense of humor is worthy of merit.
